In Luke 10:38-42, you will find a story about two sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus has been invited to be a guest at their house. Upon entering the home, Mary sits at the feet of Jesus and LISTENS to Him while Martha is busy preparing and LABOURING for Him. When Martha addresses Jesus about Mary’s work ethic and that she needed help, Jesus simply reminds Martha that the job that Mary was doing was important too, even if it wasn’t what she thought.

When you consider the Ministry, we ALL have a job to do. None is any greater than another. God is pleased when He sees all parts working together in unison to complete His will.

The Mary & Martha Ministry here at WFBC is a ministry of women who have the desire to touch the World for Christ, one person at a time. When you think of Mary and Martha, each of them were distinctly different, with different gifts, talents and callings. The women who serve here at WFBC all have come from various upbringings and backgrounds but all have the common call from God to offer LOVE, SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT, MINISTRY and SERVICE. 

Our goal in and through the Mary & Martha Ministry is to build relationships and to serve our church and our community. We want to be a place where all women feel welcome and safe. We want to equip women in our church to nurture one another and to help one another be the women God created us to be. As we draw nearer to Christ together, our relationships with each other, our families, and our communities will grow stronger.
